About

Robert Hartings

I'm a software engineer at itestra GmbH in Aachen, working on Java Spring Boot backends and modern frontends for enterprise clients. I hold a Master's degree in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen University and a Bachelor's from Hochschule Niederrhein.

My focus is on building well-crafted software — the kind that's reliable, maintainable, and actually solves the problem at hand. I've worked across the full stack with Java, Python, TypeScript, and Go, and I've shipped things with Spring Boot, Vue.js, React, and FastAPI.

I used to compete in CTF (Capture the Flag) competitions with the RWTHCTF team, which gave me a healthy paranoia about how software breaks. These days I channel that into writing things that are harder to break in the first place.

When I'm not in front of a screen, I'm usually in Aachen trying to remember what sunlight feels like.
